  • 2014 Blueberry Season has ended

    Well our Blueberry farm is now closed for the year. And, we anticipate reopening towards the end of May 2015. I want to personally thank each one of you for coming to our Blueberry farm. It was truly a wonderful season. I really enjoyed seeing so many happy faces, and feeling the joy you expressed. Hopefully, we’ll have a great Blueberry crop for you next year.     Sorry to bug you, but I sent the wrong pic. Here’s today pic. As you can see we have a few Blueberries left. Still closing for 2014, this Sunday, July 27th. (6:30am-Noon). . Also, they’re closing I69/59 Saturday and Sunday. So, take the Loop 494 exit. Travel north on Loop 494 for about six miles. Then turn left on FM1314 and continue to our farm....

    Well, we are running out of Blueberries faster than I thought. Such that the last day of our Blueberry season will be this Sunday, July 27th.  Opening at 6:30am and closing at noon. We will be open tomorrow from 6:30am to 8:30pm. Blueberry picking will be sparce, but still plenty of fun. I’ll post my next update Saturday afternoon....

    The weather today has been wonderful for picking Blueberries today. Nice and cool. We still have plenty of Blueberries left to pick this afternoon and Sunday. It looks like we’ll have enough Blueberries to last a couple more weeks. So, I think we’ll make it to the first weekend in August! I’ll post an update on Monday afternoon....

    I69/59 will be closed north of FM1314, Saturday and Sunday.  So, I suggest you take the Loop 494 exit just past the San Jacinto bridge. Travel north on Loop 494 for about six miles. Then turn left on FM1314. And proceed to our farm. Take the Hardy Toll Road, if you’re traveling north on I45. Here’s a better pic, showing just how much more the Blueberry bushes are producing. It’s quite a Blueberry season!...

    From this pic, it seems as if the Blueberry bushes don’t know when to stop!  So, this afternoon and Saturday will be good Blueberry picking.  We’ve gotten a few showers. But, nothing to make it muddy in the field. Look for my next update this Saturday afternoon....

    Well it may be wet the next three days. But, despite that, we still have a lot of ripe Blueberries for you to pick. Blueberry picking will be good for tomorrow. There will be freeway closings this Saturday and Sunday. If you are traveling north on I45, take the Hardy Toll road. Should you be travelling north on I69/59, just pass the San Jacinto river, take the Loop 494 exit. Then travel north on Loop 494 for about six miles. Then turn left on FM1314 and proceed to our farm. We still plan on being open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all this month. And, might go into August! I’ll post my next update this Saturday afternoon....

    As you can see from this pic, this Blueberry bush still as more Blueberries to get ripe. Which makes me speculate, that our Blueberry season may go into August! But, this Friday should be another great day for picking Blueberries! Look for my next update this Thursday afternoon....

    Well we still have lots of ripe Blueberries for this afternoon and Sunday. It looks like we’ll make it to at least the end of July. Hwy 59 north is still closed through Sunday, so take the Loop 494 exit, go about six miles on Loop 494 and turn left on FM1314. Then proceed to our farm. My next update will be Monday afternoon....

    I hope that you can tell from the pic that there are still lots of clusters of ripe juicy sweet Blueberries! So, Blueberry picking for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be excellent! A couple of clarifications to my alternative route for the I69/59 closure, take the Loop 494 exit and about six miles turn left on FM1314.  Then proceed to our farm. I’ll post my next update this Friday afternoon....
  • Freeway Closures

    Apparently this Saturday and Sunday,  they will be closing completely I45 and I69/59, just south of where we are. So, I would suggest that you: Take the Hardy Toll Road instead of I45 . Or, travel north on I69/59, just north of Humble,  take TX 494. Continue north on TX 494 for about 10 miles and then turn left onto FM1314. Then continue on FM1314 for about 10 miles. Then turn left onto Calhoun rd. and follow the Blueberry signs. Or, plan to come to our farm on Friday and avoid this whole thing on Saturday and Sunday. There are still lots and lots of Blueberries ripe and easy to pick!...

    It’s really hard to believe this late in our Blueberry season and we have so many Blueberries.  And, this pic speaks for itself. We may even go into August!     We have all the ripe Blueberries you need for your 4th of July festivities. The bushes are loaded with clusters of juicy sweet Blueberries!       We had lots of pickers today, but you can’t tell by looking at the field! So, picking will be excellent times for this evening and tomorrow.   If you’re worried about the rain that you may have got, it’s nice and dry here.   Remember it’s cash or check only.  So make sure you have enough to cover the Blueberries you pick.   I’ll post my next update this Saturday afternoon....

    I’m thrilled to tell you that once again this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be excellent days for Blueberry picking at our farm! There are still lots and lots of ripe Blueberries through out the field. And still more to get ripe. This late in the season, and we still have the variety, Premier, ripe and ready to be picked. Just ask where the Premier are and we’ll direct you. The other varieties ripe are Tiftblue, Powderblue, Gardenblue, and Brightwell. For those of you planning ahead, we will be open Friday, July 4th, as well as Saturday and Sunday from 6:15am to 8:30 pm. It still appears that our Blueberry season will go to mid to late July. I’ll post my next update this Friday afternoon....

    It’s the year of the Blueberry! And, Saturday is going to be an awesome day to be picking Blueberries! There are lots and lots of them in many different varieties.     I have very exciting news to tell you. We have ripe Blueberries through out our entire Blueberry field! For the past three weekends, we have been picking on our early ripening varieties, I.e. Premier and Climax. And there are still lots of them to pick. But now, our later ripening varieties, I.e. Tiftblue, Powder Blue, Garden Blue, and Brightwell are now ripe. Which makes this Friday, Saturday,  and Sunday the beginning of our peak! There are more ripe Blueberries than any time of this season. Blueberry picking this weekend will be truly awesome!  So don’t miss it! I’ll post my next update Friday afternoon....

    Well they haven’t picked them all. And there are still lots of Blueberries left. IF you follow the instructions of our bucket attendants, you will find a new section ready for picking. We’ll be open Sunday, daylight hours. Oh also, make sure you bring enough money to cover your Blueberries. $20 may not be enough. I’ll post my next update Monday afternoon....

    From these pics, you can see that we will have lots of Blueberries for you to pick. I can’t tell where they picked today! And they picked a lot. So come this afternoon or Saturday. Either day, you will not be disappointed. It’s still wet in places.  So, bring an extra pair of shoes.     Oh my, do we have the Blueberries! There are so many big, juicy Blueberries. And, lots of clusters. It takes about 30 minutes to fill a one gallon bucket, which is about 6 1/2 pounds of Blueberries. As you can see from the pics, the bushes are over laden with ripe Blueberries. Such that, the rows, that are difficult to get through, will be the best rows to pick. So, this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be excellent days for Blueberry picking. Hope you can make it this weekend to experience this unbelievable crop of Blueberries. And, it won’t be ever for quite some while. We anticipate our season to last well into July! Oh, one more thing, it’s a little wet in places in the field. So, I’d recommend that you bring an extra pair of shoes. I’ll post Continue Reading...

    Back by popular demand. Fridays are now added to our days open! So, while the Blueberries last, we will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, daylight hours around 6:15am – 8:30pm.     Those of you traveling to our farm this weekend via I45 N may find the frontage road to Texas 242 closed. Hope you can make it to our farm this weekend. There are sooo many ripe Blueberries. Also, the latter varieties are beginning to ripen. So, if you want to venture outside the flagged areas, please do so....

There are so many Blueberries; big and sweet, and clusters!  This Saturday could rival last  Saturday! So, come early, dress cool, and be happy!     As you can see from this picture, a lot of Blueberries got picked this past weekend. However,  there’s still a lot more to get ripe, most likely in about five more days. Such that, I think this Saturday will be an excellent day for Blueberry picking. Therefore, we’ll open up Saturday, and hopefully Sunday as well. We’ll be open daylight hours, which is about 6:15am to 8:30pm. I’ll post my next update this Thursday....

    The Blueberries are looking real good for opening day this Saturday, May 31st.  They’re big, juicy, and sweet! If you come early, there should be lots for you to pick. It may be a wet weekend, so if so, you may want to bring a change of clothes and a second pair of shoes. We’ll still wait until Saturday afternoon to determine whether we will be open on Sunday. I’ll post my next update, Saturday afternoon....
  • Opening day Saturday, May 31st!

    Well I bring you much anticipated news. Our opening day for our 2014 Blueberry season will be this Saturday, May 31st! Picking begins at 6:30am and ends at dark, which is around 8:30pm. We hope to be open Sunday also. But it all depends on what’s left after Saturday. So, check my update Saturday afternoon. The Blueberries are looking phenomenal! It appears that we are in the making of a bumper crop.These rains that we are receiving are making the Blueberries big and juicy. And, there are lots of them. So, if you can’t come opening day, there should be many opportunities for you to come to our farm and get your Blueberries! I anticipate that our 2014 Blueberry season should go well into July! I’ll post my next update Thursday afternoon....

    Well as you can see, a watched Blueberry never ripens. Therefore, we will not be open this Memorial day weekend. However, I’m still hoping that we will open Saturday, May 31st. We’ll just have to wait and see. I’ll post my next update next Monday....

    Hello again from the Blueberry farm! As you can see from the pic, there are a lot Blueberries here at our farm. The only thing is they’re not blue. It’s still to early to say when we will open. I’m still leaning towards the last Saturday in May. We’ll just have to wait and see. I’ll be posting each Monday in May to keep you current with the status of the Blueberries. So, look for my next update, next Monday....

    Greetings Blueberry lovers! I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that it appears we are going to have a lot of Blueberries this season! As you can see in the picture. The bad news is our Blueberries this year will be $2.50 per pound. Please understand, that I do this out of necessity and not out of greed. It’s too early to say when we will be open. My best guess is the end of May.  I’ll keep you informed on the progress of the Blueberries. I’ll post my next update in two weeks....

    Thank you all for visiting us this year for the 2013 Blueberry harvest season. This year was truly a totally different season from what we, and you, are accustomed to! We hope that your visit was an enjoyable one, because that is our number one goal. Hopefully, next year, we will have a much better Blueberry crop for you to enjoy. Remember to check our Farm News Updates beginning sometime in March of 2014. As a matter of course, we usually open the season at some point around the end of May, but that varies from year to year based on many factors, especially the weather! Thank you very much for coming to see us this season!...
  • Our 2013 Blueberry season ends Saturday, July 13th

    This Saturday will be our last day to be open for this season.  We will be open from 6:30am – 3pm. Being the last day, there won’t be a lot of Blueberries.  But, those found will be plumper and sweeter, due to the 2.5 inches of rain we got this past week. So, if you come, come early. Otherwise, see you next year. And, hopefully, we’ll have a better crop for you....

    Blueberry picking for the 4th won’t be as good as last Saturday. But, you should get 2 to 4 pounds of Blueberries. We will be open from 7am to 8:30pm. We got almost two inches of rain, early this morning. Which should extend our season to at least next Saturday, July 13th. I’ll post my next update Friday afternoon, letting you know how Saturday’s picking will be....

    Once again we are picked out. Nothing ripe for Sunday. So, we’ll be closed Sunday, June 30th. And, we’ll reopen Thursday,  July 4th. Judging by the way things look, Thursday, July 4th may be our last day open for the 2013 Blueberry season. I had hoped it would last longer. But, I’ll know by Thursday. I’ll post my next update this Wednesday, to let you know how the picking will be for the 4th....

    I checked the field real good. And, there’s a lot of ripe Blueberries for this Saturday! So come early. We’ll have parking attendants. And, they should be able to shuttle you to the farm and back to your car. Also, we will be open, Thursday, July 4th!  From 7am-8:30pm. I think Angela will have watemelons from her farm for sale. I’ll post my next update Saturday afternoon, as to whether we will be open on Sunday....
